Degree-granting program requirement
Purpose:
To ensure that all undergraduate students make appropriate progress toward completion of a degree, new first-time students are required to enter a degree-granting program by the end of their third semester of enrollment (excluding summers) and new transfer students are required to enter a degree-granting program by the end of their second semester of enrollment at Indiana University-Bloomington (excluding summers).
Impact:
No enrollment is allowed for the next term until the "start term" for the hold is set one semester past the next term. The "start term" is the semester for which the hold will prevent enrollment. This hold remains on the student record until the student is certified or admitted into their degree program.
Release Procedure:
Discuss your plans for earning admission to your intended degree program in a scheduled appointment with your University Division (or UD-Affiliated) academic advisor.
