Some schools and majors require a formal application while others use automatic certification. Once the intended school determines you have met all requirements for admission, you will be assigned a new advisor within your major program.

- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the intended major (or 0.0 if no major courses have been taken)

If you have declared a major in the College and if you meet the requirements above, then you will be automatically certified into the College and sent a notification when that happens.

The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture, and Design is within the College of Arts and Sciences and has the same admission requirements as the College:

Due to the way the audition process works, the process of applying to the Jacobs School is very different from other schools at IUB. For information on the process of transferring into the Jacobs School from a different program at IUB, please contact Jacobs' Office of Admissions directly.
- Completion of a minimum of 30 hours of college coursework by the end of the semester in which you apply. For most students, this will require two semesters on the IUB campus. Kelley includes the credits from any college-level course work on your transcript.
- Full time enrollment (12 credits minimum) during the semester in which you apply.
- The following Integrated Core pre-requisite courses (20.5 total credits, may include transfer credit), completed by the end of the semester in which you apply.

Informatics BS:
- Complete 30 credit hours of coursework toward a BS in Informatics
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Complete English Composition, and INFO-I 101 with a minimum grade of C
Computer Science or Data Science BS:
- Complete 30 credit hours of coursework toward a BS in Computer Science
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Complete English Composition with a minimum grade of C
Intelligent Systems Engineering BS:
- Complete 30 credit hours of coursework
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Complete both MATH-M211 and ENGR-E101
If you have declared an Intelligent Systems Engineering BS major and If you meet the requirements above, you will automatically certify into the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering.

- Complete 12 credit hours and a maximum of 75 credit hours with a minimum 2.300 (C+) cumulative grade point average
- Complete both the IUB GenEd English Composition and Mathematical Modeling requirements
The O'Neill School requires that students submit an application. Meeting admission eligibility does not guarantee admission. The O'Neill School will assess each application individually through a holistic review of a student's academic performance.

- Complete EDUC-G 203: (Communication for Youth Serving Professionals) with a grade of C or better
If you have declared a major in the School of Education and if you meet the requirements above, then you will be automatically certified into the School of Education and sent a notification when that happens.

The School of Nursing is very competitive, and therefore has more requirements than many other programs. For more information, please check out their admissions requirements page.
Most School of Public Health programs require the completion of 26 credit hours and a 2.0 IU CGPA for admission. Exceptions:
- Dietetics - requires a 3.0 IU CGPA and C or higher in both CHEM-C117 and C127
- Sport Marketing & Management - requires a 2.0 IU CGPA and a C- or higher in SPH-M211
- Exercise Science - requires a 2.0 IU CGPA and a C or higher in SPH-K212
If you have declared a major in the School of Public Health and if you meet the requirements above, then you will be automatically certified into the School of Public Health and sent a notification when that happens.

- Completion of a minimum of 12 credit hours; although early application is encouraged, advanced students may also apply
- Satisfactory completion (grade of C or higher) of the required course SWK-S 141: Introduction to Social Work
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Evidence of characteristics or potential required of competent social work practitioners as defined in the mission statement of the School of Social Work. Such evidence may be derived from application materials, letters of reference, pertinent work or volunteer experience, and performance in SWK-S 141 Introduction to Social Work.
