What are advising holds?

Freshmen students, international students, and some groups of transfer students are expected to meet and discuss their plans for the next term with their UD academic advisor. The goal of an advising hold is to ensure students have the information and tools they need to successfully plan their education and navigate IU.

No enrollment is allowed in the next term until the hold is released.

In order to have this hold removed, students should discuss their plans for the upcoming term(s) in a scheduled appointment with their UD (or UD-affiliated) Academic Advisor.  (UD will schedule new students' first advising appointments as a part of New Student Orientation and will release their holds at that time.)
