What is Critical Probation?

The first time a student’s IU CGPA falls into the critical probation range, the student is placed on critical probation, which then places the student in danger of dismissal. If the student’s IU CGPA falls into the critical probation range a second time, the student is dismissed. However, students who have a semester IU GPA of 2.5 or higher are not dismissed, regardless of their cumulative grade point average.

Students taking coursework at another IU campus will be held to the same standards.
