How do I know if the credits/courses I’ve already taken will transfer to IUB?
Visit your Student Center. Click on the “My Academics and Grades” link on the front page and choose “View Academic Credit Report” in the Transfer Credit section. The resultant list will provide you with detailed information about how the courses you’ve taken transfer to IUB.
It is possible some of your courses have not yet been evaluated by the Office of Admissions. If all the courses you have taken are not listed in your Academic Credit Report, use the Credit Transfer Service before you attend orientation to find out how the courses you’ve taken will transfer to IUB.
In addition, it’s important that you initiate the process of having your courses officially evaluated for transfer as soon as possible. The Office of Admissions may take four to six weeks to complete this process.
Transfer credits will not be awarded for any courses in which a grade of C- or lower was earned.
If previous coursework has not been evaluated and posted by the time you attend orientation, make sure to bring information about college-level courses you’ve taken elsewhere with you to your orientation advising session. Your orientation advisor does not have the authority to make final decisions about coursework taken at other institutions but needs to be fully informed about your academic background to make sound recommendations for future enrollment.
