Welcome Week

Welcome Week is during the week before fall classes.  Many activities are organized to help students begin to make IU and Bloomington their home away from home.  One of the first events during Welcome Week is the Freshman Induction Ceremony, which many parents attend to officially mark and celebrate the beginning of their son or daughter’s college career. 

Freshman Family Weekend

Early in the fall semester, the IUB Parents Association hosts this weekend especially for first-year students and their families to help them explore the many resources on campus and in Bloomington.  A variety of special activities are organized, including an Open House at University Division and a tailgate party before Saturday’s football game

Parents Weekend

Parents of all students are welcomed to campus late in the fall semester to enjoy the Bloomington campus and community with their son or daughter.  Activities include various sports events and tours of the academic schools and departments and Libraries and Museums at IUB.
